Coral Encounters by Annette Cramer

ARTIST NOTES: I am inspired by the natural beauty of The Great Southern Reef of Australia. Part of that reef the Encounter Marine Park of the Fleurieu Peninsula stretching from the north-east coast of Kangaroo Island to The Coorong.

This piece is hand built in highfire clay and the coral-like formations and textures remind me of hand stitched appliqué quilts.

I use very few tools in my sculptures mainly sculpting with my hands.
